Platts/Capgemini Utilities Executive Study

| Point de vue

Insight to power your business.

After the first year of President Obama’s administration and amid a slowly rebounding economy, the North American energy industry continues to face mounting challenges ranging from uncertain legislation and the environment, to variable consumer demand and the importance of incorporating new technology.

Most utility executives are dissatisfied with the current administration’s performance on energy issues, according to the latest industry study from Platts and Capgemini.

Completed in late 2009 and early 2010, the Platts and Capgemini survey of top utilities executives was designed to:
- Identify and prioritize current industry issues
- Assess opinions about the future of the energy industry
- Measure steps utility companies are taking to prepare for the future
- Gauge perceptions about the Obama administration’s impact on the industry

The first phase of the research was designed to identify the issues, while the second phase statistically quantifies and prioritizes those findings.

An executive summary is available that describes the study’s key findings and future industry issues.
